I'm Making a List - REWARD IDEAS PLEASE

oh how I have loved my rewards! I vowed to spend every single solitary penny I was saving. How fun was that? Fun! I needed every reward I could find, because you are right. Quitting, no matter how great it feels, is also a pretty depressing experience for awhile. Wondering if my old me would ever return. (It did) Wondering if I would ever stop feeling deprived. (I did) Wondering if I would ever stop being the ***** from hell. (yep) A pedicure. A manicure. Rented a dunebuggy for a day (first time in 58 years :p). A massage. Another massage. A foot rub from my sweetie. Another pedicure for these garden callused feet. Another massage. A river rafting trip. Lavendar body balm. Getting my teeth cleaned. A flowering cherry tree. A pile of used paperback novels with no redeeming value. A bottle of sake. Throwing old garage sale dishes at a tree. A walk with my golden retriever. Another massage. I am salivating just thinking of all this fun! I am such a believer in rewards! I LOVE rewards! I'm trying to find something else I can quit so I can have MORE REWARDS! ;p For my first big milestone -- I think it was a month -- I bought new walking shoes, socks, a pedometer, and a walkman. For another milestone, I redid my guest bathroom (which is the one I consider "my" bathroom) with all new spa colors, candles, towels, etc. My 6-month reward was new porches on my house. My one year reward was a membership at the Y. Part of my one year reward (early) was a driving trip to meet Lady for lunch. Smaller rewards included chai lattes, new books and cds, candles, lunches with friends, etc. Somewhere in there I also rewarded myself with an MP3 player. Queen, We are happy to hear that you are coping well. My favorite technique was cleaning the house. I am sure you are thinking, "how fun is that"? However, my cravings lasted for about 15-20mins. I would first start with the bathroom and then move on to other areas of the house until I was able to cope with the cravings. I then took a long bath and had a hot tea and went to bed. The evening were the worst for me. This is when I smoked the most. I was living at home and my parents were quite happy with me. They thought that I was cleaning the house as a thank you for letting me stay home while at school and not paying rent. Oops! I guess the word is out! Great thread Queen!
