Argument with Spouse...Really want a cigarette

Make your quit about yourself....if you want to irritate or spite your hubby, find some OTHER way to do it :) cause the smoking only hurts YOU. Sometimes we get more arguementive when we quit??? If that is the case, you need to learn to recognize it coming on and leave the offending situation BEFORE your emotions start you to think about smoking. Personally I used smoking as a crutch to hide many of my feelings. It takes time to learn to handle the onrush of emotions that come when you have no nicotine to dull them Hang tough and work on it.....do NOT let the control be taken from you by the junky!! katy My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/4/2002 Smoke-Free Days: 1536 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 61,460 Amount Saved: $8448 Life Gained: Days: 200 Hrs: 10 Mins: 1 Seconds: 33

Dee, That was a great avoidance technique! Remember, your feelings and actions can be affected by the quit. Try using a few hour rule :) This entails taking a couple of hours and removing yourself from the situation. This will help you look at the situation more calmly and it can be used a coping mechanism. Keep Strong, Josie ______________________ The SSC Support Team.
