Kaiser, I am just reading this now, several days after you posted. Sorry I missed it. You don't have to apologize to me, I will only feel sad if you let this stop you from trying again. I will be honest in saying I am sorry that you won't be at 100 days with me, but that is being selfish on my part. None of that really matters. It just matters that you keep trying. You CAN do this. You have already proved that. You just need to strengthen your resolve and coping skills. I bet things didn't feel much better after that first pack of cigs. Did you get that prescription from the Doc? Are you feeling up to trying again? When you are, make sure you come and let us know how you're doing. There is a great quote today..... Winners take chances. Like everyone else, they fear failing, but they refuse to let fear control them.- Nancy Simms. Remember we all get afraid at times, the hard part is working through it. Kaiser, What is important is that you recognize the need to be here and here you are. We all have our "failures" or "slips", whatever you want to label it...what is important is that those of us who HAVE fallen down and gotten back up on this horse are here for the same reason you are. We all want to stay quit. We're here to help each other through that process, no matter how many times we have to start the process over. As long as you never give up trying, you'll be better off than those who have convinced themselves that they'll never be able to quit. You know you can do it...you've done it! So, just pick up, and do it again. We're all here for each other...that does include you! N.O.P.E. I saw this post and I said NO! Not you. You have disappointed yourself not the members here. You know what it takes to quit. When temptation and junkie thinking are getting to you come here and post BEFORE you smoke and then wait for responses. Everything passes if you just hang on. Do not quit quitting. You are fighting for your life. Smoking doesn't solve a thing. It just adds to your problems. We all want to see you succeed. You can do it! Kaiser, I just saw this and had the same reaction Lady did... "OH NO! NOT YOU!!!" Like others have said... you have not let anyone down but yourself. A "slip" can sometimes be a very inlightening experience... you learn a LOT about yourself when it happens. If you take it seriously and try to find out why you did it and what you can do to keep it from happening in the future, it CAN be a good thing. So congratulations for coming back to try again. Crave the Quit! Kaiser, I just saw this thread too. Do not think you have let anyone here down. You haven't. Especially, now that you've "fessed up" :). Honesty is the best policy in overcoming this addiction. Honesty to us, of course, but most importantly honesty to yourself. We may be saddened by the slips and falls of others, but that is not so much disappointment as it is empathy. There, but for the Grace of God, go us. Congratulations on pulling yourself back on the wagon, Kaiser. kaiser, Have you learned from this? Smoking that pack didn't fix anything. Strap yourself in and let us guide you through. You can do this and we can help. You need your coping mechanisms by your side and a plan. It is great to see that you are working with your doctor, this will make a difference. We are not here to judge, just to help :) Keep Strong, Josie _____________________ The SSC SUpport Team.
