Itchy Scratchy Throat

Hi Phillip. I agree with Shevie. I remember experiencing the same thing early on along with being dizzy a lot. My whole system was out of wack for that first couple of months. Drink a lot of water and suck on ice is what I did to relieve the scratchy feeling. You are doing great. Just Keep Swimming.... Hi, Phillip. Congratulations on 25 days quit. One month coming right up! I went through something similar. I think when we smoked our bodies produced more mucous in the lungs, throat, and sinuses to shield itself from the smoke. When we removed the irritant by quitting, the mucous production suddenly dropped and we end up drier than normal, hence the scratch feeling. Personally, I felt like I was on the verge of a sinus infection that never actually happened. This took a couple of months to clear up. But everybody is different, so you may take more or less time. Impatience is quite normal during this recovery process because quitting seems to distort time so badly (i.e. the first week lasts six months). You're doing great, Phillip. Keep it up. :) Shevie. Riverdale, Some symptoms may come out later than normal. The swimming may also be a factor because of the chlorine. Check with your doctor to rule out anything medical. Your determination is outstanding, I wish I had your energy! Keep Strong, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
