Hi, NSA girl. Glad to see you made it through. :)
You said "How can I go on faith that it will get better, when out of the blue I have these horrible urges?" When those horrible urges hit out of the blue is the time you must go on faith. Curling up into a ball and sleeping or just waiting it out is often the only thing you can do.
There's typically a rough spot around 30 days that just about every quitter goes through. Another hits around 100 days, or so, that sometimes is as bad as hell week. Been there, done that, survived. You will, too.
As long as you remain smoke-free, there is no right or wrong way to quitting. Whatever technique or coping method you use to not smoke is OK.
Congratulations on 26 days quit and surviving this "bump". Reward yourself for your success; you've certainly earned it. :)
