since i am a big avid golfer, and i allways walk when i golf. I thought i would try and spruce up my game during the winter months. So i went and bought tread mill and use it every chance i get.I know come spring time my health and my golf game will be alot better. I actually look foward to walking now, and i know walking up those hills come spring time will be alot easier. One thing I have found out since ive quit is they get a lot more work out of me a work lol. Can anyone relate My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/19/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 35 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 893 Amount Saved: $175 Life Gained: Days: 5 Hrs: 18 Mins: 57 Seconds: 53

I cook....a LOT. Crazy, new recipes all the time. As an added bonus, I have lost weight because I am cooking healthy meals. I also make bead jewelry, created a blog, do crossword puzzles and recently started running. Miisyfit hit it (3 its in a row) right on the mark. Idle time is a new found adventure. Based on things I read on this site, I made a list of new things and hobbies that I wanted to experiemnt with. I sort of timephased them so I would have a new consideration at different times during the quit. e.g. 1 week start walking, after 6 weeks start woodworking projects GPW - I also did and still do deep breathing. As a matter of fact, I actually held my breath. Seems to help with CO2 imacts and the lungs certainly benefited. Keep up the great work BJ. seems like after you get through the hell, heck, blah and what the hell weeks, the physical withdrawal is pretty much licked. Yeah, dizziness and various little nags may there a tad longer. So much of the symptoms after the nic withdrawal is purely psychological and lots of it is we have had a "habit" for so long. Almost everything we have done for years and years was accompanied by a smoke. I have replaced smoking with physical activity, reading and meditation. Sooooo, what type of replacement have you used? You know, replacing a bad habit with a new one. Give us some ideas! Hi Mike... Good to see you! This is the thing I struggle with most...idle time. I have so much of it now. I began working a little harder at exercise. I've practically overhauled the entire house...one room left to go and I'm not sure what I'll find to do then. (my chihuahuas have a worried look on their faces) ;) Good thread...and congratulations on 200 days!
