I think I have this evil non-smoking side that makes me a royal b****. I don't want to be that way...at all. But I can feel it and others can feel it and see it too. Thats when I have to take a really really deep breath and hope to offend somebody with my bad breath and not my bad language.....LOL.

The ONLY way to avoid relapsing is to just grow up....plain and simple. We all have these baby crying fits when we want a fag. Do you realize how stupid it is and how stupid it looks? Have you ever seen the billboard with the animals having a cig hanging out of their mouths and the caption says...."it looks just as stupid when you do it". The only way to get over it is to grow over it...mature. don't focus on the feel sorry for me factor....its just plain stupid. Have a great day and great fresh air.

The psychology of the "dry" drunk; the clean junkie, etc. is an interesting one to observe here and in myself. Suddenly so brilliant and awesome, aren't we? And all in a matter of a year? WE seem to become a bit smug and profound now that we've gone through this horrible thing. Of course, the fact that people with 10 years of abstinence suddenly relapse doesn't seem to be enough to make us a little more humble and understanding that the potential is always there. As though 3 months,6 months, 1 year, in light of that, really means much at all. Seems to me we are all addicts and every day is just another day. Give me some advice, but don't try to psychoanalyze me: particularly over the internet! I mean really- this attempt to make a relationship such that -if a person is struggling, it is their lack of maturity or their negative perception- a self-induced thing. Ah, such gurus, if only I could be as enlightened. Perhaps in another life. Give me a break. I'm struggling because I'm an addict. I bet some of us are really great at math and science; maybe we were good athletes. Were those that struggled in these subjects merely less mature or did they simply have the wrong perception which interfered with their abilty to factor equations? I mean, it couldn't be because they were unique people with different skills, personalities, life experiences or some other such nonsense. Lady, I don't know you at all. But I'd wager you see a lot deeper in "your struggle" than most will ever see; and that's what I call maturity! :8|: My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/18/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 93 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,758 Amount Saved: $837 Life Gained: Days: 15 Hrs: 10 Mins: 32 Seconds: 46

Hey JuJu, Probably if I was a new quitter this might have offended me, thinking that you didn't care. I am thinking about all the new ones we have on the board now. They need compassion and encouragement, not GROW UP. JuJu, growing up is a long process as far as our quit is concerned. It's a journey that will take a life time. This journey takes us in many different directions from day to day. I have had days that I didn't feel very grown up. And yes I have cried lots of tears, been angry, depressed, had pity parties, became anti-social, threw things, screamed and yelled. Looks like I have a lot of growing to do... I think it is an OFF day for several of us. I did notice newbies posted here X-Smoker I am proud of her for doing so. She is going to make it and how she does it will be her way and no one else's...Congratulation X-Smoker.... NascarFan, congratulations on your great 3 days, just stay committed, and you will also make it. Jonie, congratulations on your 26 days, and you are right with the quote: The future depends on what we do in the present. You will make it also.... Thanks to Luna, Lady, Ladybug, Rusty, and Josie, all of you have such wisdom. If I have offended anyone I am really sorry, I don't usually get into these kind of disucssions, but for some reason I felt like doing it today.... Hi JuJu, I read your post as, "Let's just get on with it!". The future depends on what we do in the present. Honestly Sunshine, I can't think of how you would offend anyone. Sometimes controversy, such as JuJu's post, stirs the pot, know what I mean? Pen... I'm not THAT offended. You said you didn't understand why some were offended. I was just voicing my point of view and letting you know what was offending to me. I do tend to be emotional at times. :p I think it's fair to say that I don't get offended too often. Nothing personal. :)
I still have a lot of growing up to do, as we all do. Can't you at least agree with that?
Pam... yes I can agree that you need to mature just a bit :eg: :8o: :p My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/1/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 326 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 6,528 Amount Saved: $1141 Life Gained: Days: 28 Hrs: 18 Mins: 27 Seconds: 37
