Well with all the books I bought, detox herbal stuff, hypnosis cd's, motivational cd's, a new pair of work out shoes, and a monthly gym membership. I've probably spent a good $400 on my quit already. But hey check out my stats: I have been quit for 4 Days, 15 hours, 42 minutes and 46 seconds (4 days). I have saved $16.28 by not smoking 93 cigarettes. I have saved 7 hours and 45 minutes of my life. My Quit Date: 6/15/2006 11:59 PM AND I CAN BREATH BETTER AND DEEPER THAN I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO IN A VERY LONG TIME. I've heard it said, "When you can't breath nothing else matters." The pounds may come and will fall off in time with exercise, I can't grow a lung back no matter how hard I try. So I don't feel like I've taken a financial hit at all. I am gaining my life and health.

Hiya fat, What a great thread. My boyfriend bought me a mountain bike for christmas, which could be difficult for me to get up hills... I went out at the weekend, cycled for miles, and on the way back - all uphill, and it was him not me that was struggling. I am going to cyprus end of Aug, so i am saving 150 a month that I would have spent on cigarettes. By the time I go on holiday I will have 450 spending money! :)

HI My husband has booked a weekend away from teenagers coming weekend (23-24th June)at the Gold Coast (Down Under) a non-smoking room. WOW!!! I have not saved too much yet-but me and hubby have been married 20 years this coming weekend. So we thought a weekend away would not hurt. We're taking a trip to Williamsburg in August - and my first quit reward is a new swimsuit (I'll get that on my one month date) - unfortunately, I'm starting to think I'll need a bigger size, as I think I've been spending all my money saved on junk food. It's hard to make yourself pay attention to a diet at the same time you're trying not to smoke! I kind of wish I could just fall asleep for a month and wake up having no desire whatsoever to smoke - and being over my addiction to ice cream! But, yesterday I went to the grocery store and bought fruit and string cheese and low-fat granola bars to keep at work to keep me from my three-packs-a-day peanut m&ms addiction. Day two - m&m free - I think I'm more proud of that than the quitting smoking!! BF, Renting a cabin in the mountains sounds very romantic. *sigh* I want to go to Phoenix again. It is so beautiful there. You are lucky to live there. I live in Wash DC. Politics are the only real landscape around here. Urgh. Cool Fat, A bike sounds great. Have fun in Chicago NasCarFan Breaking Free- retail therapy- that's great 3Galeh! Manicures sounds like a great way to treat our formerly, tar hands. butts have fun camping Navigator you sound wonderful. Deep gulps of air are so refreshing. niks you can do a lot with 450. have fun on holiday aekvall- have fun with your hubby. I am off to Floriday July 7- a trip planned b/4 I quit, but like all of you, there will be more money now for whatever. I need some new shorts b/4 I leave. Haven't purchased shorts in over 4 years. I have one pair without elastic that I can't wear in public. I have 2 pair that are 2 sizes too big and 2 pair 2 sizes too small. I think I am at the point where I can't let "Shorts depravation" go on any longer ;p My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/12/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 10 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 413 Amount Saved: $65 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 22 Mins: 23 Seconds: 43
