Hey greenette.
I quit on wed. and had the very same feeling of having nothing to look forward to. I thought, nothing can replace that cigarette after eating.. hey I like that dessert !! But, it is like heroine or cocaine addiction, of course we feel it is the only thing that can satisfy us. get a bag of lemonheads, redhots, butterscotch, sunflower seeds, whatever you want.. get a few too !! Use those when you get a craving. you will burn out on those after a few days but, by then you will break some habits and the urge will be less.
Somtimes when I get an urge, I pick up a pen and start drawing a picture or something.. by the time I draw even something simple, the craving is gone.. Cravings don't last longer than 3 minutes and by the 4th day, they occur half as much.. you can do it !!! I have been smoking for 26 years and I am determined to get rid of the ball and chain. The desire will pass.. eat some candy and pass the time..
